Against the backdrop of rapid globalization, foreign policy education and intercultural discourse can be seen as a challenge for the people to whom - in an idealistic way of speaking - the future belongs. The Young Forum was established in 2005 as a center to facilitate exchanges and encounters between students and graduates interested in taking a closer look at international relations. As an integral part of the Foreign Affairs Association, the Young Forum offers the younger generation among the Association's members a platform which - through its hands-on approach - maps out its own course in terms of form and content.
We meet with foreign affairs experts, researchers, politicians and political consultants in the informal setting of our "Fireside chats", where the emphasis is not on speeches, but rather on discussion. Exciting excursions (for example our trip to Berlin) and visits to political institutions, foundations and research facilities give the participants early insights into the workings of specific areas of activity (also at the international level). Our presentations are addressed primarily to a younger audience and are intended to reflect the diversity of international relations, taking an interdisciplinary approach whenever possible.
A key point: Our Forum thrives on involvement! We welcome interested individuals from all fields who love engaging in dialog and would like to examine the opportunities and challenges of international relations from every possible angle. We cordially invite all interested individuals to take part in our projects or even play an active role in planning them.
