Glenn Schmidt, Leiter Politik und Außenbeziehungen, BMW Group

Die deutsche Automobilindustrie steht im Spannungsfeld zwischen dem wichtigen Wirtschaftspartner China einerseits und den USA andererseits. Herr Glenn Schmidt wird die Herausforderungen beschreiben, denen sich das weltweit tätige Unternehmen stellen muss.

Glenn Schmidt is responsible for government and external affairs for the BMW Group. The function consists of a policy group based in Munich and representative offices in all major automotive markets spanning Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. His department is also responsible for communication for BMW Group entities in the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Africa. Over the last 17 years, Glenn has held numerous international positions within the BMW Group. Most recently he was responsible for international media relations and prior to that business and finance communications. Glenn was also a member of project i, the BMW Group´s initial think-tank that led to BMW I and subsequent broad electrification with the company´s product portfolio. Prior to joining BMW Group, Glenn was a consultant specialized in the automotive industry. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Krannert School of Management, Purdue University in West Lafayette, USA. Glenn is originally from Vancouver, Canada, where he completed his undergraduate studies.
